Lack of mental health beds in NT leads to 'last resort' ED practices.
A severe lack of staffed mental health beds in the top end of the Northern Territory is placing immense pressures on emergency departments and forcing staff to use last-resort treatments, such as heavy sedation requiring intubation, for people experiencing severe mental illness.
