Australian Greens

The NT Greens are excited to see the creative initiatives proposed by Music NT and acknowledge the important role music plays in our culture and community. Governments play a vital role in supporting the arts and must ensure that all Territorians have an opportunity to participate in a vibrant music culture.

Music NT highlights the important role music plays in our economy and the ways in which music can benefit the tourism and entertainment industry, and create more jobs and training opportunities for Territorians.

The NT Greens congratulate Music NT for their vibrant and exciting vision for the Territory and hope to elevate the voices of artists in the next NT Parliament.

Quotes As put by Suki Dorras-Walker

"The NT has a vibrant music culture, and is proudly home to internationally famous First Nations artists whose music captures what an incredible place the Territory is. We're brimming with talent and it is the NT government's role to create the opportunities for this talent to flourish."

"We need music in our schools, in our streets, in our towns and in our remote communities across the Territory. We all instinctively understand the joy and vibrancy that live music can bring to a city, and Darwin has the talent to become a buzzing live music scene if we have a government that is willing to support the great work of NT Music, and artists more generally."

"Bringing a strong music scene to the Territory will not only bring us entertainment, it will also help our local businesses, and offer opportunities for our young people to grow and thrive. I love the power music has to bring people together, it's one of our greatest cultural assets, let's ensure that it continues to thrive!"

"I love the music trails proposal put forward by NT Music - creating musical road trips for locals and visitors alike, and revitalising our regions. Their goals for a more safe, accessible, diverse and vibrant music scene is something we can all get behind"
