NT Police Hunt for Info on Stolen Alice Springs Vehicles

Northern Territory Police have arrested 3 youths after a vehicle was stolen and driven dangerously in Alice Springs over the weekend.

Around 4:30pm Saturday, police received reports that a white Toyota Land Cruiser was stolen from a carpark on Bath Street.

The vehicle was observed driving dangerously around the Alice Springs CBD, including attempting to ram police vehicles.

At 8pm, a Tyre Deflation Device was successfully deployed on Gregory Terrace and 3 youth, aged 12, 13 and 14, were arrested a short distance away from the vehicle.

The 13 and 14-year-olds were charged with offences including unlawfully use a motor vehicle and Drive in a manner dangerous. Both were bailed to appear in court on 3 August 2023.

The 12-year-old will be dealt with under the provisions of the Youth Justice Act 2005.

At 2am on Sunday, a blue Toyota Yaris was stolen from a premise on Stuart Terrace. Later that day, tyre deflation devices were deployed successfully again and the vehicle was located abandoned in bushland off Ilparapa Road.
