Acting Deputy Secretary Victoria Nuland met with Nigerian National Security Advisor Nuhu Ribadu on January 17 in Washington, D.C. Acting Deputy Secretary Nuland and National Security Advisor Ribadu discussed the importance of the U.S.-Nigeria security partnership and Nigerian efforts to support regional stability in West Africa. They further agreed on the importance of protecting civilians, safeguarding human rights, and promoting accountability and transparency in the aftermath of security operations.
