Numbulwar - Arrests

Northern Territory Police have arrested two people for their alleged involvement in a disturbance in Numbulwar late on Monday afternoon.

The 18-year old and 16-year old are in police custody, pending further investigations by detectives at Numbulwar.

About 5:00pm on Monday, police began receiving reports that large groups of people, some armed with cross bows and other weapons, were preparing to fight. During the course of the disturbance a 51-year-old female was struck by an arrow from a cross bow, which penetrated her arm and the side of her chest. She was transported by Careflight to Darwin for medical treatment.

Additional police resources were deployed to the community and no further violence has occurred.

Police are continuing their investigation into the fighting.
