NZ police arrest five people after meth lab located in Whangarei

As stated by Detective Sergeant Shane Pilmer, Northland Police:

Five people have been arrested and a meth lab has been located following multiple search warrants in Whangarei this morning.

Three addresses were searched in the suburbs of Onerahi, Avenues and Raumanga following an investigation into the manufacture and supply of methamphetamine.

An alleged meth lab was located by Police at the Onerahi address.

Also located during the search warrants were approximately $15,000 in cash, ammunition and a small quantity of methamphetamine.

Four males and one female have been charged with a significant number of charges relating to the supply of methamphetamine and other drug-related and ammunition charges.

Four of those charged were due to appear in the Whangarei District Court this afternoon with one person due to appear in court tomorrow.

Enquiries are ongoing and further charges are likely to be laid.
