Police can now confirm the name of the person who died while diving near Mana Island, Porirua, on 5 March.
He was Shengwei Cao, 58, of Lower Hutt.
Police extends its condolences to Shengwei's family and friends at this difficult time.
His death has been referred to the Coroner.
