Police can now release the name of the man who died after a boat overturned on the Waitaki River on 18 October.
He was Russell "Rusty" McDonald, 67, of Oamaru.
On behalf of his family, Police would like to express their gratitude to the search teams involved in locating Mr McDonald.
The family now asks their privacy be respected at this difficult time.
Mr McDonald's death has been referred to the Coroner.
