A woman has died following a crash at Crystal Brook this morning.
About 10.20am on Wednesday 23 September, police and emergency services responded to a head-on crash on the Augusta Highway involving a Toyota 4WD and a Mitsubishi station wagon.
The driver of the Mitsubishi, a 68-year-old local woman, was treated at the scene by SA Ambulance before being rushed to hospital. Sadly, she died a short time later.
The driver of the Toyota, a 51-year-old Victorian man and his two passengers, sustained non-life threatening injuries and were treated at hospital.
The Augusta Highway was closed while Major Crash officers examined the scene but was reopened at 9pm.
As a result of investigations, the 51-year-old Victorian man was arrested and charged with causing death by careless driving. He was refused bail to appear in the Port Pirie Magistrates Court tomorrow.
