Veterans Wellbeing Voucher Providing Valuable Support

Tasmanian Government

A Veteran Wellbeing Voucher Program is helping Tasmanian veterans to remain connected and supported within their community, while also reducing the cost of participating in sport.

The voucher program is part of the Tasmanian Government's $370 million in discounts, concessions and subsidies for 2026-27.

Under the program, eligible participants may receive two vouchers per financial year, each valued at $100, to support participation in approved gyms, sporting clubs and community recreation organisations.

Acting Premier Guy Barnett said this important cost of living measure was supporting veterans to stay active and connected.

"We know how important preventative health measures are, and this program is delivering just that," the Acting Premier said.

"Our veterans have served our country, and in turn, we must ensure that they are supported when they return to civilian life.

"We want to make sure that remaining connected, social and in touch with your support network is as easy as possible."

Minister for Veterans' Affairs, Gavin Pearce, said the program was already a huge success, with 571 vouchers delivered this financial year so far.

"We want to see even more veterans taking up this important cost of living measure," Minister Pearce said.

"We have expanded the eligibility of this program over time to include veterans, eligible partners or spouses, and eligible widows or widowers.

"Our Government is building an even better Tasmania by support our veterans to stay active and engaged, while also reducing the cost."
