Oakey State School 'Treasure' features in Takatsuki Art Festival

Oakey State School students' artwork has flown the flag for the Toowoomba Region's international cultural relations with our Japanese Sister City of Takatsuki this month.

Toowoomba Region Mayor Paul Antonio said the Oakey Year 6 students had continued the tradition of regional schools entering a canvas in the Takatsuki Art Festival.

"The Oakey State School students in term three completed a 2.5 metre by 3.5 metre canvas under the theme, Treasure for All," Mayor Antonio said.

"Takatsuki holds an annual art festival each November to stimulate community activity while also nurturing the talents of young artists in Takatsuki and across their different Sister Cities, including our Region.
