OAS, Chile's Andres Bello University Boost Inter-American System

The Organization of American States (OAS) and the Andrés Bello University (UNAB) of Chile today signed a collaboration agreement in order to promote the agenda of the OAS and the Inter-American System through education.

During the signing ceremony that took place at the Organization's headquarters in Washington, D.C., the Rector of UNAB, Julio Castro, thanked the OAS Secretary General "for allowing us not only to establish joint work, but also to open doors of work for the benefit of our students and our university."

For his part, the Secretary General of the OAS, Luis Almagro, acknowledged that "we are pleased to strengthen ties with higher education institutions in the Americas. Andres Bello University joins the list of allies in our purpose: more rights for more people. We are convinced that this joint work will bear good results and will be a boost for the actions of both institutions."

The signed agreement contemplates the development and implementation of research projects between both institutions, the exchange and production of information and studies, the creation of a joint chair, among others.
