Congratulations to October's Kookaburra Volunteer of the Month

Cricket Victoria congratulates Rob Fisher of Maiden Gully Marist Cricket Club, awarded Kookaburra Volunteer of the Month for October for his outstanding contributions to inclusive cricket.

Rob's commitment to the All-Abilities cricket space began in 2012, and he has since been the driving force behind the All-Abilities Cricket program at Maiden Gully Marist. Rob's efforts ensure that every person living with a disability has the opportunity to play organised cricket in a fun, social and supportive team environment.

In his role, Rob coordinates the All-Abilities program on a year-round basis. His responsibilities are comprehensive – from organising volunteer and NDIS-funded support, assisting participants with PlayHQ registration, sourcing uniforms, coaching across grades and even driving the team bus for away games in Melbourne.

Beyond logistics, Rob's approach – his patience, empathy, and "can-do" attitude – is central to the program's success. Under his leadership, the club now has one of the largest All-Abilities cricket programs in Victoria. He has opened genuine pathways into mainstream cricket, with several players now training and playing in Saturday competitions.

When he's not managing the All-Abilities program, Rob still contributes to the club's broader life. On match days, Rob is out across the club – juniors in the morning, seniors in the afternoon and All-Abilities on Sundays – capturing photos and managing the club's social media content.

Cricket Victoria thanks Rob for his volunteer leadership, innovation and inclusiveness, embodying the true spirit of grassroots cricket!

As part of this recognition, Rob will receive a $200 Kookaburra Voucher for Maiden Gully Marist Cricket Club.
