Off duty member alerts police to erratic driver in Reservoir

An off-duty police member observed a vehicle allegedly driving erratically in Reservoir this morning (9 November), Victoria Police say.

The policeman observed the white Toyota Corolla travelling along High Street just after midnight.

It is alleged the vehicle went through a number of red traffic lights but the member lost sight of the vehicle.

Greensborough Highway Patrol members responded and located the vehicle which had crashed into a tram pole on Plenty Road about 150 meters north of Albert Road about 12.08am.

A 23-year-old Boneo man was located sitting next to the vehicle.

It’s alleged the man was in possession of a number of drugs and he was subsequently arrested at the scene.

He was taken to hospital with non-life threatening injuries and is currently under police guard.

The investigation remains ongoing.
