Off-duty officer charged with high-range PCA - Northern Region 30 March

An off-duty police officer has been charged with high-range PCA following a crash at Lake Macquarie.

About 8.40pm on Monday (28 March 2022), officers attached to Lake Macquarie Traffic and Highway Patrol attended Goodwins Road, Morisset, following reports of a single-vehicle crash.

The driver – an off-duty senior constable attached to a specialist command – allegedly refused a roadside breath test and was arrested.

The 43-year-old woman was taken to Toronto Police Station, where she underwent a breath analysis which returned an alleged reading of 0.208.

The officer was issued a court attendance notice for refuse or fail to submit to breath test and drive with high-range PCA.

She is due to appear at Toronto Local Court on Monday 16 May 2022.

Her licence has also been suspended.
