A Port Macquarie man is running on pure adrenaline after discovering his million-dollar win in last night's Wednesday Lotto draw with excitement keeping him wide awake since checking his ticket before bed.
The NSW man held the only division one winning entry nationally in Monday & Wednesday Lotto draw 4377 on Wednesday 27 March 2024. He scored the guaranteed division one prize of $1 million.
“This couldn’t have come at a better time,” the happy man exclaimed when a lotto official called to confirm his prize.
“I just picked random numbers years ago… and have just kept playing them. I’ve been playing them for such a long time that I can’t even remember how long.
“I normally don’t check my ticket until the day after the draw, but last night, before going to bed, I decided to have a look.
“I just went, ‘is this true?’. It was just a shock. It really was.
“It was on my mind the whole night, and I kept checking the ticket during the night. I didn’t get a wink of sleep.
“I’m still off to work today. I won’t tell anyone, but there will be a knowing look in my eye.
“It will clear the mortgage – that’s the aim. I won’t squander it, and I won’t go mad with it.
“This is certainly going to help me out and with what’s left I’ll lock away for a rainy day!
The winner’s entry was a marked 24-game ticket.
