Officer charged - Central Metropolitan Region 16 June

A serving police officer has been charged following an investigation by the Professional Standards Command.

In January 2021, an investigation commenced following reports of alleged historical sexual assaults that occurred in 2004 and 2005.

Following inquiries, a 38-year-old senior constable – attached to a command in the Central Metropolitan Region – was issued a Court Attendance Notice today (Friday 16 June 2023).

He was charged with commit act of indecency with person under 16 years, two counts of aggravated indecent assault – victim under the age of 16, aggravated sex assault – victim under the age of 16 and assault occasioning actual bodily harm in company of others.

The man is due to appear before Gosford Local Court on Friday 18 August 2023.

His employment status is under review.
