Officer charged - Central Metropolitan Region

A serving police officer has been charged over alleged domestic-related offences in Sydney.

Yesterday (Monday 17 February 2020), a 28-year-old probationary constable – attached to Central Metropolitan Region – was charged with three counts of intentionally choke person without consent (DV) and four counts of common assault (DV)

He was granted conditional bail to appear before Downing Centre Local Court on Wednesday 26 February 2020.

Police will allege in court the charges relate to multiple domestic incidents that occurred between July 2019 and February 2020 involving a 42-year-old woman.

The officer is currently on leave and his duty status is under review.
