Officer charged - North West Metropolitan Region 24 April

A police officer has been charged following an investigation into an alleged assault that occurred earlier this year.

A senior constable attached to a specialist command was served with a Court Attendance Notice yesterday (Thursday 23 April 2020), for the offences of assault occasioning actual bodily harm, and four counts of common assault.

The alleged incident occurred in Hornsby on Saturday 25 January 2020, while the officer was off duty.

The 44-year-old man is due to appear before Hornsby Local Court on Wednesday 29 July 2020.

The officer's duty status is currently under review.
