Officer charged - Southern Region 10 August

A serving police officer has been charged with drink driving on the state's South Coast earlier this year.

On Friday 7 May 2021, officers from South Coast Police District commenced an investigation after receiving reports a 40-year-old man allegedly drove his vehicle under the influence of alcohol while off-duty.

Following inquiries, the man – who is a detective senior constable attached to a command in the Southern Region – was yesterday (Monday 9 August 2021) issued a Future Court Attendance Notice for drive whilst under the influence of alcohol.

He is due to appear before Cooma Local Court on Wednesday 22 September 2021.

His employment status is under review and his driver's licence has been suspended.
