A police officer has been charged following investigations by police in the state's south.
The female senior constable – formerly attached to a command in Southern Region – was issued a court attendance notice yesterday (Tuesday 26 July 2022) for one count each of common assault, and pervert the course of justice.
The charges relate to an incident on 22 November 2020.
The officer is due to appear in Deniliquin Local Court on Tuesday 13 September 2022.
Her employment status is under review.
