Officer charged - Southern Region 31 December

A police officer has been charged over alleged telecommunication offences.

In June 2021, investigators attached to Riverina Police District commenced an investigation into alleged telecommunication offences.

Following inquiries, a 37-year-old male senior constable – attached to Southern Region – was served a court attendance notice today (Friday 31 December 2021), for three counts of aggravated offence involving private sexual material using carriage service.

He is due to appear at Goulburn Local Court on Wednesday 23 February 2022.

The officer is currently suspended with pay.
