Officer charged - Southern Region, NSW

A police officer will face court next year after being charged with assault, NSW Police say.

On Saturday 27 August 2016, the Senior Constable was on duty when it is alleged he assaulted a 45-year-old man.

The 55-year-old man, who is attached to a local area command within the Southern Region, was issued a Future Service Court Attendance Notice for Common Assault.

He is due to appear at the Wagga Wagga Local Court on Wednesday 11 January 2017.

The officer is currently suspended from duty.
