Officer charged - Specialist Command 20 September

A serving police officer has been charged with domestic-related assault offences.

In June 2022, an investigation was commenced by the Professional Standards Command in relation to allegations of assault involving a 43-year-old man.

Following inquiries, the 43-year-old man was issued with future court attendance notices for six counts of assault occasioning actual bodily harm and three counts of common assault today (Tuesday 20 September 2022).

The detective senior constable – attached to a specialist command – is due to appear at Penrith Local Court on Tuesday 1 November 2022.

The officer remains on restricted duties.
