Officer charged - Specialist Command 4 May

A police officer has been charged following an investigation into an alleged historical indecent assault.

In December 2021, an investigation commenced into reports a serving police officer – attached to a specialist command – had allegedly indecently assaulted a woman in October 2013.

Following extensive inquiries, the 49-year-old was issued a court attendance notice yesterday (Wednesday 3 May 2023), for assault with act of indecency.

The officer is due to appear before Downing Centre Local Court on Wednesday 14 June 2023.

His employment status is currently under review.
