Selected agenda highlights for the October Ordinary Council Meeting:

  • 8.2 Development Application 10.2023.63.1 - 56 Wellington Street Bombala - New Grandstand
    • A development proposal for the construction of a two-level 130-seat covered grandstand at Bombala Exhibition Ground, including multiple toilets, a kitchen, and storage. The facility currently only has moveable bleachers for seating.
  • 8.5 Development Application - 10.2023.196.1 - Refurbishment of the Bombala War Memorial Swimming Pool, including new plant room and plant equipment, new pool concourse, new shelters, and minor internal alterations.
    • A development proposal for Bombala Pool, which would see the construction of a new pool concourse, a new roof over two of the seating areas, new entry and exist turnstiles, a disabled toilet, alterations to existing change-rooms and toilets, a new edge on the children's pool, a children's playground, and new pool infrastructure and equipment.
  • 9.3.1 Jindabyne Development Control Plan
    • The NSW Department of Planning and Environment has prepared a new draft Development Control Plan (DCP) for the Jindabyne area. This draft DCP is a key part of the Snowy Mountains Special Activation Precinct (SAP). If the officer's recommendation is adopted, this draft document will be placed on public consultation for six weeks. This will allow the community to have their say on the future of the Jindabyne region, and will play a key role in shaping the final DCP.
  • 9.4.1 Grant invitation to begin construction of the Monaro Rail Trail at Bombala
    • Council has been invited to apply for $1 million in funding by the Australian Government, in fulfilment of an election promise by local MP Kristy McBain to provide funding for construction of the Monaro Rail Trail to begin.
  • 9.5.2 Proposal for a Social Enterprise Nursery
    • Snowy Hydro has proposed establishing a social enterprise nursery in Adaminaby, as part of fulfilling their obligations to rehabilitate construction sites associated with the Snowy 2.0 project. Snowy Hydro would pay for the construction of the facility, and it would be operated by a not-for-profit social enterprise organisation that will be determined at a later date if the proposal is approved. The facility would be owned by Council, which would affect the depreciation listed on Council's balance sheet.
