class="article-meta doctype-meta">Press Statement

On behalf of the United States of America, I extend warm wishes to the people of Ireland, and all those celebrating around the world, for a happy and hopeful St. Patrick's Day.

In 2024, we proudly mark the 100th anniversary of diplomatic relations between our countries, a milestone that underscores this is, as President Biden said, a "partnership for the ages." As we look ahead to the next century of friendship and cooperation, let us reflect on the countless contributions of the Irish people to our global community.

Today is an opportunity to celebrate the rich history, vibrant culture, and resilient spirit of Ireland. Let us also acknowledge the profound bond shared by our people, fostering a connection that transcends borders and enriches our shared heritage.

Throughout the decades, the United States and Ireland have collaborated closely across various spheres such as research and innovation, food, and energy security, combatting climate change, and advancing economic opportunity for underrepresented members of our communities.

We welcome Ireland's continued leadership and look forward to many years ahead of deep collaboration and partnership. May the spirit of St. Patrick's Day inspire us to embrace diversity, cherish traditions, and strive for a brighter future together - le Chéile.
