Parking signs in some sections of Echuca's central business district and port precinct are about to change.
Campaspe Shire Council General Manager Infrastructure, Dr Jason Deller said the changes follow Council's decision in December 2020, with changes aimed to make parking times in the area more consistent in line with the adopted Parking Strategy.
"The changes will see an increase in accessible car parking spaces, for people with accessible parking permits, from nine to 14 locations around the Riverfront, Hopwood Place and Leslie Street," Dr Deller said.
"In addition, time restrictions in some areas will change, some reducing, some increasing."
To alert the community to sections being changed, temporary signs will soon be in place providing advance notice.
Once all new signs are in place and road line marking completed, signage will be changed to notify the community that parking signs have changed, and time limits will now apply.
"It will take about 1-2 weeks to complete the full change-over. The advance notice will help the community in recognising those areas that will changed," Dr Deller said.
