Opening Doors With Destination Durham

Durham University
Group of four students in front of Prebends Bridge in Durham.

We want all students with the aspiration, merit and potential to succeed with us to apply and achieve the extraordinary at Durham. Almost one in five of our UK undergraduate students comes to us through a project that widens access to higher education.

Our new Destination Durham programme supports students from the North East of England who are typically underrepresented in higher education to apply to Durham University.

Building on the legacy of our previous programme, Supported Progression, Destination Durham raises aspirations and helps students to reach their full potential.

What is Destination Durham?

Destination Durham is a non-residential programme that's intended to inspire and empower Year 12 and 13 students on their journey towards higher education.

What does it involve?

Students will have multiple opportunities to visit our campus, departments and colleges, as well as explore the city. They will also complete an assessed project in a subject area of their choice, developing academic skills.

Why should you apply?

If you are considering higher education, Destination Durham is a fantastic opportunity to experience life at Durham University by exploring our unique colleges, attending workshops and participating in student activities.
