Operation Marshall, South Brisbane District

Brisbane police have seized 13 weapons and charged more than 30 people since Jack's Law's amendments on 18 July as part of the ongoing Operation Marshall.

The expansion of Jack's Law allows for both planned wanding operations and random wandings to detect and deter the unlawful possession of edged weapons in various locations including shopping centres, licences premises and public areas.

On 3 August, Inala Tactical Crime Squad conducted a Jack's Law wanding of a man on Blunder Road, Oxley.

It is alleged the man was in possession of a knife with a single hand release blade.

The 26-year-old Dutton Park man has been charged with one count of unlawful possession of weapon category M.

He is expected to appear before Richlands Magistrates Court on 22 August.

On 24 July, officers conducting a Jack's Law wanding operation at a Mount Ommaney shopping centre located a teen allegedly in possession of two knives.

The 13-year-old Deception Bay boy was charged with one count of possess knife in a public place and was dealt with under the provisions of the Youth Justice Act.

On 26 July, Macleay Island general duty police were conducting a wanding operation at the ferry terminal when they located a man allegedly in possession of a knuckle duster.

The 34-year-old Cleveland man was charged with one count of unlawful possession of weapons Category M.

He was remanded in custody and is expected to appear before Cleveland Magistrates Court on 9 September.

On 26 July police stopped a man for a Jack's Law wanding in a hotel on Bloomfield Street in Cleveland.

It will be alleged the man was in possession of a Stanley knife.

The 43-year-old man has been charged with one count of possession of knife in a public place.

He is expected to appear before Cleveland Magistrate's Court on 26 August.

On 22 July, police were hosting a coffee with a cop community engagement event at a Victoria Point shopping centre when they observed a teen wearing a balaclava walking in the shopping centre.

Officers intercepted the group and conducted a Jack's Law wanding and allegedly located a knife.

A 14-year-old Cleveland boy has been dealt with under the provisions of the Youth Justice Act.

On 26 July, officers conducting a wanding operation at a Cleveland train station located a teen allegedly in possession of a knife.

The 14-year-old Cleveland girl was charged with one count of possess knife in a public place and was dealt with under the provisions of the Youth Justice Act.
