Operation Tallinn gets results in Wyndham

Moonee Valley Crime Investigation Unit detectives working Operation Tallinn, an anti-weapons operation, in Wyndham on Saturday night arrested two men and located weapons, drugs, ammunition and cash.

The arrests took place when police intercepted a car on Thames Boulevard in Werribee on Saturday just after 5pm.

A search of the vehicle resulted in police allegedly finding an amount of cannabis, GHB, knives, a home-made firearm, ammunition and an amount of cash.

A 29-year-old Werribee man was charged with traffick drugs, possess unregistered handgun, possess explosives, possess cannabis, deal property suspected proceeds of crime, possess weapons, possess cartridge ammunition, possess prohibited weapon without exemption, possess signal without reasonable excuse, drive while disqualified and commit indictable offence while on bail.

He has been remanded in custody to appear at the Werribee Magistrates' Court on 7 June.

A 23-year-old Harkness man is expected to be charged on summons with similar offences.
