Operation Velodrome, Logan District

The Logan District Child Protection and Investigation Unit will soon launch ‘Operation Velodrome’, targeting the supply of methamphetamine in the Logan District, Queensland Police say.

As part of the operation, officers will take appropriate action based on reliable information provided by the general public.

The operation was formulated in response to recent intel which indicates that a growing number of underage children are being exposed to the drug.

The aim of the operation is to reduce the availability of methamphetamine in the area, hopefully breaking the cycle of addiction.

The operation will also seek to identify and help children who are experiencing neglect as a result of parental addiction.

Police urge anyone with information regarding the supply of methamphetamine in the Logan District – or anyone who may suspect a child of using the drug or being the victim of parental neglect – to contact Crime Stoppers.
