Oracle analytics and BI specialist, NeoData, joins Deloitte

Professional services firm Deloitte continues to strengthen its market leading technology team, with the announcement today that the founders and staff of Melbourne-headquartered information and data management consulting business, NeoData Australia, will join the firm's Consulting Enterprise Technology practice on 12 August 2019.

NeoData is an information services consultancy that specialises in reporting, analytics, and business modelling solutions. NeoData has a strong position in the ANZ region based on deep technical and functional skills in the Oracle technology and applications portfolio.

It is one of the leading providers of Oracle-enabled analytics services in Australia and the only company to have been awarded Oracle APAC Specialized Partner of the Year for four years running (2016 to 2019).

Neodata's team bring deep functional process knowledge to all aspects of finance, HR and procurement, customer experience, and supply chain systems, working across a range of industries, including financial services, higher education, technology, media and telecommunications, and all levels of government.

NeoData's three leaders will join Deloitte Consulting's Enterprise Technology practice as partners (CEO Dr. Tas Osianlis and COO Robert Loughnane) and as a principal (CTO Gergo Bacskai). Approximately 20 staff will join Deloitte offices in Melbourne, Sydney and Perth.

Deloitte CEO, Richard Deutsch, said: "We continue to see significant client demand for business-focused consulting enabled by deep technology expertise. This transaction - our first for the new financial year - builds on other technology additions we have made in recent years, as well as enhancing the value we can bring to Deloitte's formal alliance with Oracle that includes an Asia Pacific team of more than 3,500 Oracle cloud experts."

Deloitte Managing Partner Consulting, Kaylene O'Brien, said: "As back office and digital transformation offerings mature, organisations are looking for smarter ways to use and interrogate their data. Our clients, particularly in financial services, asset management and supply chain, are looking to us to help them succeed with their critical technology projects.

"NeoData is known in the market for its deep Oracle cloud capabilities, and the team's analytics expertise in particular will complement and strengthen Deloitte's Oracle team, enabling us to offer the full suite of services required in complex end-to-end implementations."

Peter Nikandrow, Deloitte's Oracle lead and Enterprise Technology partner, said: "NeoData is Oracle's strongest and most experienced Business Intelligence and Analytics implementation partner in the ANZ region. We've worked with Tas and his team for over a year on multiple projects; so we've been courting for a while and it's great to be able to take our relationship to the next level and have the team join as part of the Deloitte family."

Incoming Deloitte Consulting Enterprise Technology partner and CEO of NeoData, Dr. Tas Osianlis, said: "We focus on understanding the customer's business and invest time and effort to understand them and the industries they work in. This knowledge and awareness of the business processes that create value for our customers, underpins our consulting approach, and the design of solutions that work for them. Our focus is our customers and we evolve around them. This has manifested by way of broadening our technology services portfolio to include the cloud service applications and platforms that our customers are including in their IT architecture.

"We've always seen data as a valuable asset, if it's used in the context of the best business practices. Planning, operational management and innovation are all vastly different processes with different data requirements. There is great value in data, if business processes are great. We see Deloitte's enormous depth in these areas to be highly complementary. We are all passionate about our customers, their success, and the technologies that can be applied to realise great outcomes - we are very excited to be joining Deloitte."

Terms of the NeoData transaction are confidential.

Deloitte has added significantly to its strength in technology consulting in recent years, including teams from Dataweave, an Oracle integration specialist, in 2014; and last year AWS Cloud specialists, CloudTrek and Microsoft Azure integration consultancy Mexia.
