The development of the playing surfaces at the Orange Regional Sporting Precinct is proceeding as planned.
On Friday night Orange Mayor Tony Mileto received a letter from Member for Calare The Hon. Andrew Gee making serious allegations about sand provided for the project by a respected local supplier. Mr Gee then posted this letter on his social media channel.

The playing fields at the Orange Regional Sporting Precinct are taking shape, with work continuing to progress.
No sand is being removed or replaced. The sand was sourced following sign off for suitability from Council's expert advisors.
There is still work to be completed on the playing surface. This is part of a staged process designed to deliver a high-quality finish across all fields, and everything is progressing according to plan. It is an immature surface and the contractors are continuing work to make sure we have a great playing surface when athletes start using the area.
Orange Mayor Tony Mileto said delivering and maintaining premium playing fields like these was not set and forget.
"This is not a matter of spreading some seeds and top dressing; it is complex process to ensure the highest drainage requirements and playability standards are met and its ready for use next year," he said.
"Work will continue. We have carried out similar work on Wade Park recently as we do every year and as do golf courses. The sports precinct is the same."
The contractors are here this week for scheduled works to continue the establishment of the fields which will involve a heavy mow, application of fertilizer, aeration of the playing surface and top dressing.
"Council understands there will be commentary with big projects like this, but we are getting on with the job," Cr Mileto said.
"Our focus is on delivering the best sporting precinct in regional NSW.
