OSCE Backs Security Training for Tajik Border Guards

OSCE

From 1 to 5 June, the OSCE Programme Office in Dushanbe, in partnership with the Belarus Border Service and Regula Company, successfully conducted a five-day practical training course on "Authenticity Verification of Security Documents" in Minsk, Belarus.

This specialized training course built on a theoretical course conducted earlier this year in Dushanbe and focused on equipping officers of Tajikistan's Border Troops with advanced skills and hands-on experience in detecting forged travel documents using state-of-the-art verification technologies.

Five participants, selected for their outstanding performance during the theoretical phase, took part in immersive practical exercises at several venues, including the Belarus Border Service Institute, Minsk National Airport, and Regula headquarters. The training sessions covered advanced document verification techniques, multi-level control co-ordination, and real-world operational scenarios, enhancing participants' technical expertise and operational readiness.

Following the course, the participating officers are expected to lead future capacity-building initiatives within Tajikistan's Border Troops, contributing to the nationwide rollout of advanced document security measures, reducing reliance on external consultants, and strengthening the overall resilience of national border checkpoints.
