From 23 to 27 February 2026, the OSCE Programme Office in Dushanbe (POiD) organized a training course on "Authenticity Verification of Security Documents for fifteen officers of the Tajikistan Border Troops (TBT). The theoretical sessions were delivered by two international experts from Belarus and a local instructor from the TBT Institute.
Participants enhanced their knowledge of document authentication and training methodologies, with a focus on detecting forged travel documents. The course covered paper production, printing techniques, and advanced security features in passports and visas. Officers also received practical instruction on the use of technical tools and methodologies for identifying sophisticated forgeries.
As part of comprehensive support and following the training, POiD donated two Regula 4306 Video Spectral Comparators (VSC) to Dushanbe and Khujand International Airports. The equipment will support second-line border control officers in conducting comprehensive, forensic-level examinations of travel documents, thereby strengthening border security and efforts to combat transnational crime.
