The results for the 2025 Australian Public Service (APS) Employee Census are now available.
The census is a confidential annual survey which gathers insights from staff about the APS, their agency and their workplace experience.
We use results to assess and monitor staff engagement and understand what is important to our people, what we are doing well and what we can focus on improving.
Our highlights report shows we are:
- improving how we manage change
- supporting and actively promoting an inclusive workplace culture
- facilitating access to flexible working arrangements and non-monetary conditions including leave, flexible and remote work arrangements and other benefits.
While we saw a lot of positive feedback, the report highlighted some areas we could focus on to further support our work.
We built a 3-year action plan with annual review to enable us to monitor workplace and cultural improvements over time and make meaningful change across our department.
We will continue to monitor and track our progress for the rest of the 2025 census cycle and beyond.
