Out of control party in Everton Park, QLD

Police have charged several people with offences including obstruct police and public nuisance following an out of control party in Everton Park last night, Queensland Police say.

Following reports from neighbours, police attended a home on Barton Street around 10pm.

Upon arrival, police located around 50 young people at a party there – some allegedly drinking in the street, damaging property and causing a public nuisance.

The North Brisbane District Duty Officer declared an out of control event at 10.25pm and police closed down the party.

While most of the crowd dispersed when asked, several scuffles broke out requiring police to intervene.

As a result, nine people were arrested including a 16-year-old Mitchelton girl, a 16-year-old Stafford girl and a 16-year-old Ferny Grove boy. They were released from custody to a place of safety.

A 16-year-old Brighton girl was charged with obstruct police.

A 17-year-old Aspley girl was charged with public nuisance and obstruct police and is due to appear in the Brisbane Magistrates Court on February 13.

A 17-year-old Ferny Hills man was charged with obstruct police and is due to appear in the Brisbane Magistrate Court on February 15.

A 20-year-old Keperra man was charged with public nuisance and obstruct police and is due to appear in the Brisbane Magistrates Court on February 21.

An 18-year-old Taigum man was charged with obstruct police and is due to appear in the Brisbane Magistrates Court on February 27.

An 18-year-old Mitchelton man was issued an infringement notice for disorderly behaviour and obstruct police.

An investigation by the Inner West Child Protection and Investigation unit is continuing.
