MONDIACULT - UNESCO's global conference on cultural policies - will gather cultural actors, partners and leaders from all over the world in Barcelona, Spain, from 29 September to 1 October 2025 to shape and commit to a global agenda for culture. This 2025 edition will discuss trends, challenges and opportunities in the cultural sector and the progress made since the last edition in 2022, which recognized culture as a "global public good". To foster these efforts, UNESCO will launch the first worldwide Global Report on Cultural policies assessing the impact of culture across all dimensions of development.
Preparatory press briefing, 22 September
UNESCO is organizing an online press briefing on 22 September. The Organization's experts will present the actions undertaken to engage in multilateral action and cooperation in the cultural field and strengthen advocacy efforts to position culture in international debates. This briefing will also provide an opportunity to review the expected outcomes of the Conference, and to present the findings of the Global Report on Cultural Policies, under embargo.
