Over 6,000 Tasmanians have been supported into their own home through the Tasmanian Government's stamping out stamp duty initiative. This highly successful program has now exempted almost 4,000 property purchases.
Treasurer Eric Abetz said our Government was working hard to help more Tasmanians into their own home.
"Owning your own home means so much more than a roof over your head – it means security, longevity and a place you can call your own," Treasurer Abetz said.
"That is why we have continued to stamp out stamp duty for more Tasmanians.
"In the first 100 days since re-election we have helped close to another 700 Tasmanians across 462 households realise their home ownership dream.
"This takes the total figure to over 6,000 Tasmanians."

Treasurer Abetz said the Tasmanian Government was also progressing plans to triple the First Home Owner Grant to $30,000.
"We are delivering for Tasmania, with the interim Budget funding the expanded grant program," the Treasurer said.
"This is an interim budget that gets the balance right and delivers for Tasmania.
"As a Government, we can always be doing more to help Tasmanians realise their dream of home ownership.
"We want to continue to do so by working together and tackling these challenges with compassion and commonsense."
