A drink driver was found to be more than five times over the limit in Fitzroy North last night.
Fitzroy police were patrolling when they noticed a car pull awkwardly to the side of St Georges Road about 8pm.
Officers intercepted the car and spoke to the 38-year-old woman who appeared to be under the influence.
A preliminary breath test returned a positive result before the woman furnished an evidentiary breath test reading of 0.291.
The woman's licence was suspended for 12 months and her car impounded for 30 days at a cost of $873.
It is expected the Fitzroy North woman will be charged on summons in relation to drink driving and traffic offences.
