P-plater Loses Their Licence For Speeding Near Pimba

A P-plater was caught speeding on the Stuart Highway south of Pimba yesterday afternoon.

Just before 2.30pm on Monday 7 September, Woomera Police detected a vehicle travelling at 141 km/h in a 110 km/h zone on the Stuart Highway, Oakden Hills.

The driver, a 19-year-old Evanston man, was the holder of a P2 licence.

He was issued with an expiation notice for speeding and breaching the conditions of his provisional licence totalling $2465 and seven demerit points.

Provisional licence drivers are reminded that they can only drive up to a maximum speed of 100 km/h on South Australian roads, even if the posted speed limit is higher.
