Pair charged following discovery of molotov cocktails - Fairfield

A man and woman have been arrested after police allegedly located Molotov cocktails inside a vehicle in Fairfield overnight (28 November), Victoria Police say.

Police saw a blue Mitsubishi acting suspiciously in the vicinity of the Station Street shopping precinct about 2am before it came to a stop near the Fairfield Railway Station.

Officers approached the vehicle, allegedly locating a number of Molotov cocktails, a knife, knuckle dusters and a quantity of ice.

A 23-year-old man and 35-year-old woman, both of no fixed place of address, were arrested at the scene.

They have been charged with possess item with intent to destroy/damage property, drug offences and weapon-related offences.

Both have been remanded to appear at Heidelberg Magistrates’ today.
