Pakenham South Scooter Rider Dies

Major Collision Investigation Unit detectives are continuing to appeal for witnesses following a fatal collision in Pakenham South on 9 February.

Police located a scooter rider unresponsive at the intersection of Healesville-Koo Wee Rup and Ballarto roads in Pakenham South just before 7pm.

The 60-year-old Pakenham man was taken to hospital in a critical condition but sadly died overnight.

Police believe the scooter was travelling south on Koo Wee Rup Road when it was possibly struck by a yet to be identified vehicle that failed to stop at the scene.

The exact circumstances around the incident are yet to be determined and police are seeking to speak to a man they believe may have witnessed the incident.

Earlier this week detectives released footage of the vehicle they believe may have witnessed the incident, a white Toyota HiLux.
