Parramatta last stop of Sir Elton John's Australian Tour

City of Parramatta Lord Mayor Councillor Andrew Wilson has welcomed the announcement that global superstar Sir Elton John will end the Australian leg of his Farewell Yellow Brick Road world tour at Bankwest Stadium on Saturday 7 March 2020.

"Sir Elton John has electrified audiences around the world for 50 years and some of his biggest fans are right here in Western Sydney. I'm thrilled that he has chosen Parramatta as the last stop of his Australian tour. This is truly a once-in-a-lifetime experience." Cr Wilson said.

"Bankwest Stadium is a world-class venue, providing a perfect stage for one of the world's biggest stars. Sir Elton John's performance will further cement Parramatta as a must-visit destination for major events and concerts."

Promoter Michael Chugg, the Executive Chairman of Chugg Entertainment, said Sir Elton John's Parramatta show will be one for the history books.

"Parramatta should get ready to welcome one hell of a showman, as the first-ever concert to land at the fantastic new Bankwest Stadium." Mr Chugg said.

"The venue is spectacular. It's the most-talked about new stadium Sydney has ever had, and this will be Elton's last Australian tour, so we know it's going to be a ripper! We're encouraging fans to get in quickly, though, because demand will be huge and we don't want anyone to miss out on seeing this legend live in our brand new stadium."

The 30,000-seat Bankwest Stadium, which opened in April 2019, is a state-of-the-art venue with seating that brings fans closer to the action than ever before.

Sir Elton John has sold more than 300 million records worldwide and holds the record for the biggest selling single of all time, Candle in the Wind 1997.

He will perform his greatest hits in cities across Australia as part of his final world tour.

Tickets for Sir Elton John's concert at Parramatta's Bankwest Stadium will go on sale at 12pm (AEST) on Tuesday 25 June at Ticketek.
