PWDA is working with the National Disability Insurance Scheme on improving and developing the Safeguarding Policy Principles. Part of this involves PWDA assisting with recruitment for the Participant Safeguarding Co-Design Story Workshops.
We are seeking up to 20 current NDIS participants to join the co-design group.
Workshop details
Each participant will be required to attend four (4) x three (3) hour workshops over a two month period.
Each workshop will focus on a different topic and participants will be required to share their experiences and thoughts on that topic.
Each session will have psychological support available during and after the workshop to ensure psychological safety.
The workshops will be disability affirming and trauma informed.
- Workshop 1 – Exploring how NDIS participants and carers currently understand and experience safety and risk.
- Workshop 2 – Understanding common protective factors and the NIDA's role in supporting access to them.
- Workshop 3 – Exploring how NDIA can ensure decisions related to risk are proportionate, empowering and upholding participant rights
- Workshop 4 – Prioritising solutions that improve how the NDIA works with participants to understand and manage risk and safety.
