Passing of Cr Peter Jamieson

We have sadly learned of the unexpected passing of City of Port Adelaide Enfield Councillor Peter Jamieson.

Peter was a long-standing member of Council, having been elected in 2003. He has been Ward Councillor for the Outer Harbor Ward for 18 years and also held the role of Deputy Mayor and provided several years of service to Council’s Audit Committee.

He has spent many years representing Council and the interests of the PAE community on the LGA State Executive Board, the Murray Darling Association, State Level Crossing Committee and the Consumer Advisory Committee.

Peter has been widely regarded in the community for his advocacy and work for environmental and coastal matters and his career in education.

He was also a long standing and active member of the North Haven Surf Life Saving Club and served Surf Life Saving for 48 years.

Peter was a proud local and known for his strong commitment and passion for his community and will be missed as a valued member of Council.

Our sincere condolences go to his wife Bronwyn and children Troy and Brad, and Peter’s family, friends and colleagues.
