  • Board members advise Minister on policy relating to pastoral industry
  • Lands Minister Tony Buti today opened expressions of interest for two new members to join the Pastoral Lands Board (PLB) of Western Australia.

The PLB advises the Minister for Lands on policy relating to the pastoral industry, including the McGowan Government's current Pastoral Lands Reform process.

It also administers the State's 490 pastoral leases to ensure they are managed in an ecologically sustainable way.

The two new pastoral interest members will be appointed for a period of up to three years. Suitably qualified people who hold or have held an interest in a pastoral lease, or are or have been shareholders in a company with a beneficial interest in a pastoral lease are encouraged to apply.

As stated by Lands Minister Tony Buti:

"The Pastoral Lands Board plays an important role in providing strategic advice to the Government on the pastoral industry and administering pastoral leases, which cover 34 per cent of our State.

"We're looking for two new pastoral interest members and I encourage anyone interested in serving on the Pastoral Lands Board to apply."
