Pedestrian dies after crash at Blaxland

A woman has died after being struck by a truck in the Blue Mountains today.

About 2.20pm (Monday 1 November 2021), emergency services were called to the Great Western Highway at Blaxland following reports a pedestrian had been hit by a truck.

The 20-year-old woman was treated by NSW Ambulance paramedics, but died at the scene

The driver, a 54-year-old man, was not injured and was taken to hospital for mandatory testing. He was then taken to Katoomba Police Station, where he is assisting police with their inquiries.

Officers from Blue Mountains Police Area Command established a crime scene and have commenced an investigation.

A report will be prepared for the information of the Coroner.
