A pedestrian has died following a crash in the state's south overnight.
About 11.10pm (Saturday 6 September 2025), emergency services were called to the M1 Princes Highway, Croom, about 8km west of Shellharbour, following reports of a crash.
Officers attached to Lake Illawarra Police District arrived to find a man had been hit by a car.
The man – believed to be in his 40s - was treated by NSW Ambulance paramedics; however, he died at the scene.
He is yet to be formally identified.
The driver of the car – a 46-year-old man – was uninjured and taken to hospital for mandatory testing.
Police established a crime scene and have commenced inquiries into the cause of the crash.
